On the way to automated driving in trucks: TANGO aims to ensure save driving by managing the vigilance of the driver and to create additional value to the driver and his transport company by enabling (productive) secondary tasks. To reach this goal, we will combine environment and interior sensor systems with new interaction concepts. Driver and truck will cooperate dynamically and allow secondary tasks in dependence of the criticality of the traffic situation, the driver awareness and the current automated driving support level. TANGO bridges the methodological and technological gap to fully automated driving. Within the partnerteam, the Stuttgart Media University will be responsible for the user-centered steps in the project: User Research and prototype testing in agile development.
